The Project
In 2017, Perry Township Schools recognized the need for a complete overhaul of their main district website, along with more than 20 individual school sites. They reached out to Jackson Sky to oversee the entire project from beginning to end. In 2023, all of the websites underwent a full visual redesign.
Our Approach
At the beginning of the project, the district needed guidance and a solution on how to address the hundreds of microsites and blogs that had become unruly—many of them outdated or inactive. Jackson Sky conducted an in-depth analysis of the websites and proposed a streamlined content strategy, making it easier for parents, staff, and students to quickly find the information they need.
The main district site received a design and functionality overhaul. The 20+ school sites modeled the main site in terms of structure and design; however, they were customized, so each school can take pride in their individual logo and colors while remaining cohesive with the other schools in the district.
Solution & Results
The websites were built using WordPress Multisite, enabling Perry Township Schools to manage all sites from a single dashboard. In 2023, the WordPress themes were updated to incorporate the latest platform improvements and technology, giving the district even greater flexibility and ease in updating content on a weekly basis.

School Pride + Overall Cohesion
One of the key visual goals of this project was to strike a balance between district-wide consistency and individual school identity. While all school sites share a unified structure and design framework, each was customized to reflect its own branding—incorporating school-specific logos and colors. This approach reinforces the district’s overall visual cohesion while giving each school a sense of ownership and school pride.

New Logos for the Elementary Schools & Programs
Because of the ongoing partnership with Perry Schools, Jackson Sky was a natural fit when it was time to have new logos designed for their 15+ elementary schools and kindergarten academies in 2022.
The goal was to maintain each school’s unique identity while creating a cohesive family of logos. (Some schools didn’t even have a usable vector version of their existing logo.) For each school, we delivered a styleguide and a variety of logo lockups – combining their mascot with their school name – designed to work across a wide range of mediums and materials.
